George Dickel Superior No. 12 is believed by many to be the gold standard of Tennessee Whisky. It is made from a combination of older Whiskies selected by the master distiller. The Superior No. 12 is made from a mash bill of barley, corn, rye, wheat and other grains. It was awarded with two Silver Medals, two Gold Medals and one Double Gold Medal in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

George Dickel Superior No. 12 Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Aroma of rich oak, charcoal and sweet smokiness.

Palate: Notes of maple syrup, buttered bread and smoke.

Finish: Deep and complex, with touches of roasted corn, charcoal, citrus and raisins.

Distillery Information

George Dickel immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1844, where he started a small retail business in Nashville, Tennessee. He added liquor to his his product lines in 1861, and they became very popular.
